Automatic Blade Inspection

WE PROVIDE AN INNOVATIVE AUTOMATIC BLADE INSPECTION SOLUTION BASED ON HIGH PRECISION PHOTOGRAMMETRY TECHNOLOGY

 

Fatigue cracking of blades is a common problem in turbine engines. It is essential to inspect all the blades in maintenance. However, due to the large number of blades and the long time cost for an inspection of a single blade, the overall time for a whole inspection of the turbine engine is huge.

GemDT provides an innovative automatic blade inspection solution based on high precision photogrammetry technology for scanning of the blades, Engineering Hub for cloud-based data management and analysis, and industrial AIVs for conveying of the disassembled blades. With a combination of the state-of-art technologies, The GemDT automatic blade inspection solution is 90% more time saving compared with traditional ways, see the details in Table 1.

The potential savings here are apparent, and enormous. The task itself is greatly speeded up and automated, not only minimising Time on Ground, but also  releasing skilled engineering staff for other tasks. Moreover the overall throughput of the facility and hence productivity is greatly increased, generating heightened profitability and return on capital.
